Veratie , a Queensland band with a sound geared towards nu metal/alternative rock, has released its first single, "Ashes".

The group was formed in 2021 by songwriter and vocalist Sarah and guitarist and beatmaker Connor .

Sarah described “Ashes” as an “unflinching analysis of the relationships we have with others and with ourselves, and the struggle to reclaim identity. The song’s resurrection metaphor calls on you to unleash your voice and refuse to partner with your own destruction.”

The song was recorded, mixed and produced by James See at Airlock Studios in Brisbane, and mastered by Steve Smart at Studio 301 in Sydney.

Veratie has a sound that may appeal to fans of Linkin Park , Evanescence , Paramore , Muse and Spirit Box .
